A Microsoft Azure Case Study
Tata Technologies, a global engineering services firm, built i GET IT, a self‑paced online training portal with thousands of courses for PLM and CAD tools. As the user base grew beyond the US, hosting the platform in a single Denver datacenter caused slow performance for international users, high management overhead, lengthy deployment cycles and rising costs, so the company sought a cloud solution that would deliver consistent, global performance and simpler development for its .NET application.
Tata migrated i GET IT to Microsoft Azure, using Azure SQL, Storage Blobs, CDN, Web Apps and Visual Studio Online integration to automate builds and deployments. The move delivered local content delivery worldwide, cut weekly admin time to minutes, reduced deployment time from hours to minutes, lowered hosting costs from about $10,000/month to $2–3,000/month, and enabled faster feature releases and greater team confidence.
