Swedish firm uses IoT technologies to save energy, water, and millions of dollars for property owners

Stockrose is a Stockholm-based property firm managing about 250 apartment buildings and 10,000 units that wanted to cut energy and water use but faced practical hurdles: hot water is a major operating cost, owners couldn’t measure individual tenant consumption, building systems are siloed across many vendors, and large-scale sensor deployment is logistically complex. Those constraints made it hard to incentivize conservation or move from reactive to predictive maintenance.

Stockrose partnered with Eniga to deploy an Azure-based, sensor-agnostic IoT platform that uses on-premises gateways, Azure IoT Hub/App Services/Databases, Dynamics 365, and Power BI to give owners a single pane of glass. The solution can connect an apartment to the cloud in about 20 minutes, enables leak detection and predictive maintenance, and is expected to save property owners roughly €40 million over 10 years while creating tenant-level billing and incentives and supporting large-scale future expansion.
