TruRating is a London-based startup that captures instant, anonymous customer feedback at the point of sale via existing payment terminals. Founded by Georgina Nelson and a small nontechnical team, the company needed to prove its idea to major retailers and payment partners while handling huge volumes of sensitive data and building credibility without heavy on-premises IT investment.

TruRating built its platform on Microsoft Azure for pay-as-you-go scalability, enterprise-grade security, and access to Microsoft experts and machine-learning tools; dashboards and correlated data (transaction value, time, items, weather, etc.) turn ratings into actionable insights. The solution achieved 88% participation, grew ratings into the millions with projections over a billion, and delivered practical recommendations (for example, staffing and service focus by day) that help clients improve customer experience and revenue.
