A Microsoft Azure Case Study
Special Olympics needed a more inclusive, consistent way to onboard athletes and volunteers across its global network, after each program had been using different systems that created siloed data and made registration difficult. Working with Microsoft Azure technologies, including Power Pages and Dynamics 365, the nonprofit set out to give people with intellectual and developmental disabilities a simpler, more accessible self-service experience.
Microsoft Azure helped Special Olympics build accessible athlete and volunteer portals with Power Pages and Power Apps, connected to Dynamics 365 for better data and relationship management. The new solution streamlined registration, improved accessibility, and unified participant information across programs; as a result, more than 35% more athletes registered independently, and over 100,000 athletes and volunteers were registered through the portals.
