A Microsoft Azure Case Study
Sebata, a Johannesburg-based subsidiary of MICROmega that provides IT and enterprise management solutions to South African municipalities, was struggling with ageing hardware, stretched budgets, falling in-house IT expertise and increasing cyberthreats. Those constraints slowed upgrades and delayed deployment of critical systems such as ERP and financial applications, creating a growing service gap for local government customers.
Working with Microsoft partner XContent, Sebata migrated key applications (starting with SQL Server) to Microsoft Azure, enabling rapid, scalable provisioning and stronger security and disaster recovery. The move cut deployment time from months to days, improved uptime and continuity, allowed quick onboarding of a major city administration, and reduced the burden on municipal resources while paving the way for broader cloud adoption (including future Office 365 and SharePoint plans).
