A Microsoft Azure Case Study
MedPoint Digital, a U.S. provider of web-based communications and SaaS tools for the biopharmaceutical industry, faced rising pricing and strict regulatory pressures that made it imperative to cut internal costs, future-proof its product portfolio, and find new revenue streams. To support faster innovation, better scalability, and stronger compliance controls, the 50-person company decided to move from AWS IaaS to Microsoft Azure and adopt cloud-native PaaS development.
Working with partner Overactive, MedPoint migrated its infrastructure to Azure IaaS and started building new PaaS solutions, most notably RegDoc eSafe, an electronic investigator site file system. The Azure move enabled faster dev/test provisioning (hours instead of days), improved security and regulatory compliance, global scalability and disaster recovery, lower operating costs, and new revenue opportunities — positioning MedPoint to deliver more flexible, future-proof SaaS for clinical trials.
