A Microsoft Azure Case Study
Republic Polytechnic, a large Singapore tertiary institution serving 15,000 students across 41 diploma programs, needed a modern, integrated learning platform to support personalized, self‑paced education. Its aging in‑house LMS (developed in 2004) was a collection of disconnected systems for coursework, internships, projects and portfolios, forcing students and lecturers to hop between tools and preventing a holistic view of student progress.
Working with AvePoint, the institute built LEO 2.0 — a single cloud-based LMS on Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Stream, Yammer, Skype for Business, Azure AD, etc.). The centralized platform simplified access and administration, improved collaboration and tracking of student progress, enabled adaptive content delivery and external partner feedback, and set the stage for future analytics and chatbot capabilities to further personalize learning.
