Setting a fast pace to the cloud: College transforms IT in just six months

San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) is a private for‑profit junior college with 15 campuses and an online division. Facing frequent downtime risks, a small IT team stretched across help desk, systems administration and reporting, and pressure to improve services and business intelligence to retain nontraditional students, SJVC needed to simplify management, increase uptime, and surface actionable data without adding staff.

Working with Microsoft FastTrack, SJVC migrated its learning management system and key workloads to Azure and adopted Office 365 in a six‑month effort, using Azure Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Database, Azure Active Directory and Power BI. The move delivered higher uptime, stronger security controls (including row‑level data access), faster environment provisioning, and self‑service BI for stakeholders, freeing IT to focus on innovation and further cloud modernization.
