Schmitz Cargobull migrates SAP environment to Microsoft Azure

Schmitz Cargobull AG, Europe’s leading manufacturer of semitrailers, trailers, and truck bodies, needed to move its core SAP landscape to the cloud as part of a broader digital transformation. Facing a very tight timeline and the need to keep global production on track, the company selected Microsoft Azure as the target platform for its SAP transformation.

Microsoft Azure was used to host the migrated ERP, CRM, and HCM systems, along with related components such as Fiori Gateway, Adobe Document Server, and Solution Manager. The migration was completed in record time, with production ready to start on January 2, 2019; the project covered 28 systems and included database changes, SAP release upgrades, and testing to ensure a smooth cutover with improved flexibility and stability.
