Satori Analytics and BIC invite users into the product design process using Azure

BIC, the global FMCG maker known for disposable razors, wanted to create the “Next BIC Thing”—a personalized shaving experience that adapts to every user’s skin and hair type. The challenge was capturing real-world usage and customer input at scale to inform product design and steer R&D toward genuinely customer-centric innovations.

BIC partnered with Satori Analytics and built a cloud and edge solution on Azure (IoT Edge, Data Factory, App Service, Functions, and Machine Learning) to crowdsource data from connected shavers—2,500 shaving sessions and 600,000 strokes—and train ML models that power personalized recommendations in a mobile app. The program consolidated real-time data in Azure, accelerated R&D, boosted productivity, and shifted BIC toward a data-driven design process with potential impact across its global product portfolio.
