Samudra Electronic System Pvt. Ltd. (Samudra LED) is an Indian designer and manufacturer of energy‑saving LED lighting that won a major Jaipur Nagar Nigam tender to replace more than 200,000 streetlights. The company faced a high‑stakes challenge: reduce streetlight energy use by at least 77.13% over 10 years while centrally monitoring and controlling fixtures, storing and analyzing large volumes of IoT data, supporting over‑the‑air updates, and ensuring security and high availability.

With IoT partner Precimetrix, Samudra LED adopted Microsoft Azure for scalable, secure cloud compute, storage, over‑the‑air device management and analytics (Power BI) on a pay‑as‑you‑go basis. The platform met availability and security needs, the rollout proceeded smoothly, and the solution exceeded expectations—achieving over 80% energy savings and surpassing the contract target.
