Case Study: iSalon achieves cost savings, improved collaboration, and GDPR-ready security with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the iSalon Case Study

Salon software developer saves time and money, improves collaboration in the cloud

iSalon, a Lincoln, England–based developer of booking and management software for salons and spas, faced aging on‑premises infrastructure, a tight GDPR deadline, and growing complexity from multiple usernames, backups, limited VPN access and a new BYOD policy. These challenges made identity management, compliance and remote collaboration time‑consuming and risky.

Partnering with Cobweb, iSalon migrated to Microsoft 365 Business and Azure Active Directory to standardize identities and apps and centralize IT administration. Using Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint and built‑in security (BitLocker and data‑loss prevention), the company eliminated VPN dependence, simplified GDPR controls, improved uptime and recovered hours previously spent on backups and updates — with estimated annual savings of about £7,500.
