A Microsoft Azure Case Study
SAE (Servicio de Administración y Enajenación de Bienes), a decentralized agency of Mexico’s Ministry of Finance, needed to modernize its IT to better serve transferor entities and citizens while aligning with the National Digital Strategy. The challenge was to consolidate and migrate three legacy data centers — including 114 production servers, 105 websites, 1,515 mailboxes and 102,520 GB of storage — into a secure, scalable platform to improve availability, control costs and meet strict security and operational requirements.
SAE migrated its entire infrastructure to Microsoft Azure using Microsoft Consulting Services and Premier Support, completing the move in six weeks and ensuring post‑migration monitoring and rapid response. The cloud solution delivered ~40% cost savings versus the prior contract, increased service availability from 90% to 99.9%, faster server provisioning, unlimited mailbox storage, stronger backup and recovery, and improved security — enabling greater interoperability, innovation and more efficient public services.
