Rising IT company seamlessly shifts highly loaded 1C ERP solution to the cloud

Agro-IT, a small fast-growing spinoff of a Russian agricultural holding, supports dozens of customers across the country and operates complex IT estates (150 servers, 100 communication channels). The company was asked to refresh a heavily loaded 1C:Enterprise ERP environment that had grown to 10 TB and 700 users, with goals to cut capital expenditure, improve cost transparency and availability, and keep downtime under an hour.

Working with Microsoft, Agro-IT built and tested an Azure migration plan over two months and moved the live system using backups and differential transfers so the final cutover took under an hour. The migration converted a large capital purchase (roughly 60 million rubles) to predictable monthly operating costs, delivered faster application performance, harnessed Azure’s 99.99% availability and on-demand provisioning, and met the client’s objectives with no meaningful disruption.
