Retailer protects omni-channel strategy with multilayer mobile security

Oak Lawn Marketing, the omni‑channel operator behind the Shop Japan brand, needed to secure a rapidly growing cloud and mobile environment after moving to Office 365 and enabling mobile email access. The company found its existing MDM lacked key capabilities—intrusion detection, identity protection and internal threat monitoring—while adding operational complexity and leaving employees reliant on unsupported free mail apps, creating governance and security gaps.

Oak Lawn replaced that patchwork with the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite (Intune, Azure AD Premium, Advanced Threat Analytics) plus Exchange Online Advanced Threat Protection, deploying the cloud solution companywide in December 2015 for 1,000 users (300 mobile). The multilayer approach standardized Outlook on devices, improved inbound/outbound email security, reduced management time and costs, eliminated unsupported client use, and set the stage for SSO and multifactor authentication to better protect both external and internal threats.
