Smartvue is a U.S.-based visual intelligence company with tens of thousands of cloud video surveillance deployments. As customers increasingly required large-scale, multi-site rollouts (one new customer was opening 100 stores a week), Smartvue’s former cloud provider couldn’t scale or deliver the fast video performance needed, threatening the company’s ability to win enterprise deals and serve global customers.

Smartvue rebuilt its VPaaS on Microsoft Azure—using Azure Web Sites, Blob Storage, Web/Worker Roles, Service Bus, Cache, and Azure Active Directory—to provide scalable storage, low-latency streaming, and centralized authentication for apps like Cloudvue, Mapvue, Sitevue, Sharevue, and Homevue. The move enabled global growth, helped win major partners (including Hikvision, Western Digital, and cable/telco agreements reaching roughly half the U.S. population), delivered reliable performance (up to 100 simultaneous camera views in a browser), and freed the team to focus on new product innovation.
