Case Study: Arecon Data achieves scalable, error-free OCTG tracking and faster billing with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the Arecon Data Case Study

Pumping data through the cloud to help pump oil out of the ground

Arecon Data’s Oil Country OS addresses a critical but often poorly tracked asset in oil and gas: OCTG and drill pipe. The company found that many operators, distributors, inspection yards, and logistics providers still rely on paper, spreadsheets, or fragmented systems to manage joints of pipe that can remain in service for decades—leading to inventory errors, overstocking, lost revenue, billing delays, and safety or environmental risks.

Arecon deployed Oil Country OS on Microsoft Azure (RemoteApp, SQL Database, App Service) with features like Yard View, tablet-based inspections, device integration, and back-office financial links. The cloud solution gives real-time visibility and traceability, speeds invoicing (including accurate handling of partial shipments), reduces paperwork and errors, and simplifies updates and scaling—improving operational efficiency, lowering risk and costs, and enabling faster, more accurate asset management across the pipe lifecycle.
