Print Company Boosts Annual Revenue by $8 Million with Cloud-Based Integration

Mimeo, a New York–based online printing and distribution provider with about 630 employees, faced a sudden, large-scale integration challenge when a Fortune Global 500 customer wanted to submit purchase orders via EDI. The contract would drive peak orders from roughly 1,000 to 15,000 and required fast, reliable EDI processing without heavy upfront investment in servers, bandwidth, or bespoke integration interfaces.

Working with partner Nimbo, Mimeo implemented a cloud-based integration using Microsoft Azure BizTalk Services, Azure Service Bus, and Azure SQL Database to map EDI to XML, test scalability (20,000 orders in 12 hours), and go live three months after starting. The solution delivered an additional $8 million in annual revenue, cut customer integration time from months to weeks, and provided greater reliability, scalability, and new business opportunities.
