Popular Israeli insurance brand secures important back office update with IaaS

IDI Insurance Company, a leading Israeli financial services and insurance firm with about 1,600 employees, faced an urgent need to modernize its aging core SAP system to meet regulatory compliance and to take advantage of current SAP functionality. The on-premises architecture required either costly hardware upgrades or an alternative approach to achieve those goals.

IDI chose a phased migration of SAP to Azure Infrastructure as a Service, working with Microsoft Consulting Services to move dev/test then production environments—avoiding major hardware refreshes. The move delivered compliance, improved security and business continuity (including built‑in disaster recovery), reduced maintenance overhead, generated cost savings, and freed IT to focus on core insurance operations.
