A Microsoft Azure Case Study
GRISARD-Gruppe is a Swiss petroleum, bitumen/asphalt manufacturing, and real estate company that operates around 600 AVIA service stations. Facing high third‑party hosting costs, inflexible services, and poor SAP performance that slowed billing and other business processes, GRISARD decided to move its core business applications to the cloud to reduce costs and improve agility.
Working with partner ITPC AG, GRISARD migrated its SAP estate to Microsoft Azure (Azure Virtual Machines, Storage, and Virtual Network) over a weekend. The move cut SAP hosting costs by 40% through consumption-based pricing, boosted performance and scalability with easy VM upgrades, shortened the monthly billing process from a day‑and‑a‑half to about two hours, improved mobile connectivity for service stations, and set the company up to migrate more workloads and explore IoT‑driven innovation.
