OMS3 - Customer Case Study

OMS3, a Philadelphia-based healthcare technology consultancy, created Doctor’s Assistant to solve a common operating-room problem: doctors and nurses repeatedly must remove gloves or ask assistants to control PCs, risking sterility, slowing procedures and causing frustration. The company set out to let clinicians control images, cameras and notes without touching equipment, improving workflow and patient safety.

Using Microsoft Kinect for Windows and Azure App Service, Doctor’s Assistant provides voice- and single‑hand gesture control and built‑in audio/video recording so clinicians can manipulate images, dictate notes and capture consultations hands‑free. The solution preserves sterile environments, reduces confusion and legal risk, is quick to deploy, earned strong clinician uptake, and has been adapted into PC Assistant for presentations and accessibility use cases.
