Next-generation vehicle fleet management delivered from the cloud

XGear is a Pakistani IoT startup that developed a next-generation vehicle fleet management platform to improve driver safety, cut maintenance costs, and boost fleet productivity. As a small team, it needed business mentoring, networking and help resolving hardware and firmware issues, plus a scalable, open-source-friendly hosting solution to bring the product to market.

With support from Microsoft’s incubation program and BizSpark Plus, XGear built its service on Azure—using services like Service Bus, Machine Learning, SQL and API Management—while integrating Linux, PHP, MySQL, Redis, Java and Node.js for front-end and analytics. The solution delivers near real-time diagnostics and forensics to customers such as Nestlé and Reliance (Pepsi), yielding about 10% savings in fuel and maintenance, large reductions in admin time, improved KPIs, and opportunities for European expansion.
