Case Study: Vereniging Natuurmonumenten achieves robust data security and agile staff mobility with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the Vereniging Natuurmonumenten Case Study

Natuurmonumenten builds a protected foundation for increased staff mobility with the Microsoft Cloud

Natuurmonumenten is a Dutch nonprofit that protects parks and wildlife and serves roughly 730 employees (about 1,500 including partner organizations). Facing limited budgets, growing security threats, and “shadow IT” that obscured which cloud apps employees used, the organization needed to protect donor and member data, preserve credibility, and enable safer staff mobility without large additional costs.

Working with SCCT and Microsoft, Natuurmonumenten deployed Azure Active Directory, Cloud App Discovery, Enterprise Mobility + Security (including Advanced Threat Analytics and Intune), Office 365 services, and Azure AD Connect to centralize identity, gain app visibility, and manage devices. After 30 days of monitoring (4.5 TB of data) ATA reported no major breaches; the nonprofit now has cost‑effective, proactive security, single sign‑on, remote‑wipe device management, and a cloud foundation that supports mobility and future growth.
