NAKIT, the Czech Republic’s national agency for communication and information technologies, needed to make access to more than 80 government e-services easier for citizens through a new national online portal. To do this quickly and at scale, NAKIT turned to Microsoft Azure, using services such as Azure DevOps and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to build the cloud-based citizen portal.

Microsoft Azure helped NAKIT implement a scalable, secure, and cost-efficient solution that accelerated development and enabled rapid testing and deployment. The portal now serves about 150,000 monthly visitors, supports traffic spikes of 8,000 visitors in 2 minutes, and reduced the need for an estimated USD 2.6 million in on-premises hardware and licenses, while delivering public-sector service quality on par with private sector experiences.
