MWH, now part of Stantec, secures mobile devices with Intune

MWH, now part of Stantec, is a Colorado-based water resources engineering firm with about 6,800 employees and a global, mobile BYOD workforce that routinely accesses engineering designs and financial data on personal devices. That mobility improved productivity but raised security and compliance risks, so in late 2015 the IT team moved from MobileIron to Microsoft Intune to better enforce corporate policies and protect company information.

Using Intune (with Azure AD and Office 365), MWH enrolled roughly 2,900 iPhones, 400 iPads, and 350 Android devices and deployed conditional access, selective wipe, device PIN/jailbreak controls, and streamlined app distribution. The switch made secure app deployment and device management simpler, increased managed devices accessing company data by 20%, enabled clean contractor offboarding, and paved the way for broader Office 365 rollouts like SharePoint and OneDrive for Business.
