Case Study: SEGA (Orbi Yokohama) achieves high availability, faster website performance and reduced costs with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Museum uses cloud technology to build a stable, lean, stress-free system

Orbi Yokohama, a SEGA and BBC Earth collaboration entertainment museum in Yokohama, relies on its website to publish ticketing, hours, and seasonal promotions that attract heavy traffic during peak periods. The museum faced recurring risks of server downtime and high maintenance costs from a seven‑server setup behind a load balancer, which strained resources and threatened customer access during critical sales periods.

Working with partner Prime Strategy, Orbi migrated to Microsoft Azure, implemented KUSANAGI for Microsoft Azure from the Azure Marketplace, and moved to WordPress—shrinking its infrastructure from seven servers to three. The new environment boosted WordPress performance (about 10× faster than a comparable LAMP stack), improved security and availability, cut operating costs, and enabled staff to publish updates in real time, making site operations far more stable and stress‑free.
