Mortgage banker unlocks data with cloud-based analytics service, gains insight, and boosts advantage

Sierra Pacific Mortgage, one of the largest independent mortgage bankers in the U.S., faced a paper-based, inflexible reporting environment that slowed loan processing, obscured regional performance, and made it hard to meet tighter investor and regulatory transparency requirements. Leaders needed faster, more accurate business intelligence and the ability to verify and act on data across eight regional centers without heavy IT intervention.

Working with Access Business Technologies on Microsoft Azure, Sierra Pacific deployed the MortgageWorkSpace Suite—using Power BI Embedded, Azure SQL Database and Data Warehouse, and Office 365—in under 60 days to deliver live dashboards, about 25 interactive reports, and a Mortgage Exchange that combines multiple data sources. The result: real-time drill-down to individual loans, faster issue resolution, improved loan throughput and resource allocation, better risk tracking (rate locks and expirations), reduced IT overhead, and stronger customer service and competitive advantage.
