Montgomery County Government (Maryland) uses Azure AI–based Zammo.ai to support successful COVID-19 vaccination program

Zammo.ai needed a fast, secure way to help Montgomery County Government handle a surge in COVID-19 vaccination inquiries and improve service across its contact centers. The county had to build an accessible, multilingual virtual assistant quickly, without extensive developer resources, while supporting both voice and text interactions.

Using Microsoft Azure, Zammo.ai implemented a no-code conversational AI platform built on Azure Bot Service, Azure AI Services, Azure Communication Services, and Power BI. The solution enabled Montgomery County to launch a vaccination assistant in just six business days, deflect calls, reduce abandoned calls from 18% to 3%, cut hold times by more than 90%, and achieve an 86% call success rate, with projected savings of up to $1.5 million annually.
