Mitsui Knowledge Industry Co., Ltd. (MKI), a large Japanese IT consulting and digital-transformation firm, uses Microsoft Azure to help clients modernize IT but faces customers that cannot move all workloads to the public cloud because of strict security, regulatory and connectivity requirements (for example, finance and offline factory environments). MKI needed a way to offer cloud benefits while meeting these on‑premises constraints and reducing the operational complexity of supporting mixed environments.

To address this, MKI evaluated Azure Stack and validated an Azure Stack integrated system (with a Dell EMC partner) using a VR content web app and Azure Active Directory for identity. The hybrid solution delivers a consistent portal, API and toolset across cloud and on‑premises, enabling the same deployments, reduced training and operational burden, faster global rollouts, and new hybrid service options — with planned proofs of concept and expanded client offerings underway.
