Major energy operator supports critical infrastructure with cloud tech

NPC Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s national power transmission operator, needed to modernize workplace collaboration while keeping critical energy infrastructure running during the COVID-19 crisis. Using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 tools, the company faced the challenge of rapidly moving thousands of employees to remote work without disrupting power system operations or risking blackouts.

Microsoft Azure helped NPC Ukrenergo shift to remote work in just 10 days instead of the planned two years. The rollout included Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Yammer, improving productivity and collaboration while reducing business travel costs. The company also plans to extend its use of Microsoft Azure for data backup, software development, and testing.
