Legrand unlocks smart-building innovation with open IoT cloud

Legrand, a leader in electrical and digital building infrastructures, needed a way to manage more than 300,000 products across 90 countries while keeping product information accurate, localized, and up to date. Working with Microsoft Azure and its Azure OpenAI Service, Legrand aimed to streamline complex product data management and improve the speed and quality of customer support.

Microsoft Azure helped Legrand co-develop the AI tools Gaia and Elia using Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Search, and Azure Data Lake Storage. The results were significant: Gaia cut product data generation time by 60%, 82% of marketing managers preferred its AI-generated descriptions, and Elia saved about 20 minutes per sales rep and customer advisor each day while enabling faster, more accurate customer interactions.
