Leading Saudi university digitally transforms service for students

Taibah University, a rapidly growing, internationally accredited state university in Medina, Saudi Arabia, set out to digitally transform student services after experiencing slowdowns during peak periods. University leadership aimed to engage students better, empower staff and optimize operations while reducing costs.

Partnering with Microsoft Azure, Taibah built a hybrid architecture, ported 22 key applications to the cloud while keeping student data on-premises for compliance, and shifted to DevOps practices. The change accelerated development (including a student chatbot), improved uptime and service delivery, and reduced operational costs by about 70%, positioning the university to adopt more advanced Azure services.
