Case Study: Vasakronan achieves smarter property data control with Microsoft Azure

Leading real estate company takes control of energy use

Vasakronan, Sweden’s largest real estate company, manages nearly 200 commercial properties and wanted better control over the massive amounts of data generated by its buildings to support sustainability goals. Using Idun ProptechOS built on Microsoft Azure, Vasakronan needed a way to unify disconnected sensor data, improve energy management, and streamline LEED certification work.

Microsoft Azure and Idun ProptechOS created an integrated system using Azure IoT Hub, Azure IoT Edge, and Power BI to automatically collect, analyze, and visualize building data in real time. The result was a single platform for monitoring individual buildings or the full portfolio, reduced manual sensor reading and human error, faster LEED certification processes, and new opportunities to optimize energy use, predict faults, and improve tenant service.
