Labor management breaks free of on-premises constraints with cloud technology

ExakTime is a U.S.-based mobile workforce management company that helps construction, field service, landscaping, and other industries with time‑tracking and labor productivity tools. After years of rapid growth, its on‑premises software model became a bottleneck—customers needed anywhere/anytime access, upgrades were slow, and scaling for larger clients was impractical. An initial move to AWS felt constrained, so ExakTime migrated to Microsoft Azure to modernize delivery and support a SaaS model.

By rebuilding on Azure (using services such as SQL elastic pools, Blob storage, Data Lake, Application Insights, and Cognitive Services), ExakTime made customer migrations fast and inexpensive, enabled real‑time, stateful mobile functionality, and simplified upgrades and support. The shift doubled development velocity, reduced customer management overhead, increased adoption through self‑service training, and unlocked analytics and AI opportunities from millions of time records—delivering cost savings, faster innovation, and a more robust product.
