Kazakhstan’s Air Astana slashes reporting time and increases productivity

Air Astana, the flag carrier of Kazakhstan, needed to speed up month-end closing and reduce a reporting bottleneck in its finance department. Using Microsoft Azure, specifically Azure Synapse Analytics with Power BI, the company sought a way to generate financial reports in less than one minute instead of taking 40 minutes to over an hour each.

Microsoft Azure implemented Azure Synapse Analytics and Power BI to move heavy reporting off the ERP system and enable scalable, parallel processing. As a result, reports now generate in 30–40 seconds, month-end closing is 5–8 hours faster, ERP performance improved, and around 100 finance staff can focus on more productive work while using dashboards and analytics instead of waiting on reports.
