IT Consultant Delivers Flexible, Hybrid Cloud Computing and 50 Percent Lower Costs

Convergent Computing, an IT consultant in California, needed a way to help customers adopt hybrid cloud computing, lower IT costs, and securely support employee-owned devices without abandoning existing on-premises investments. Using Microsoft Azure alongside Windows Server 2012 R2 and System Center 2012 R2, the company aimed to create flexible private cloud environments that could extend into the public cloud.

Microsoft Azure helped Convergent Computing deliver a hybrid cloud solution with workload portability, disaster recovery, and better endpoint protection. The result was up to 50% lower IT costs, simpler failover processes, and greater agility for customers; Convergent Computing also cut its own storage costs by replacing a planned $250,000 SAN with a $50,000 Storage Spaces/JBOD setup and expanded Azure subscriptions significantly.
