ISVs Cloud Solution Helps Cut Costs, Transform Business in the Global Hospitality Industry

PAR Springer-Miller, a nearly 30-year provider of hospitality software used by hotels and resorts worldwide, faced a strategic challenge during the 2008 recession: reduce customers’ IT costs and deliver more flexible, international, and easy-to-use systems. Management decided to rethink its offerings and build a cloud-native solution from the ground up that would support touchscreens, multi-language/currency requirements, easy integration, and a guest-centric user experience.

The company launched ATRIO Guest Experience Management on Microsoft Azure, using Azure Compute, Storage, Service Bus, and SQL Database to enable rapid updates, modular deployment, and seamless integrations. The result: lower total cost of ownership by eliminating on-prem servers, dramatic training reductions (from weeks to about three hours), pay-as-you-go scalability for cyclical demand, enhanced security, faster product innovation, and expanded market reach.
