International law firm transforms client service with Azure cloud technologies

Taylor Wessing is a full‑service international law firm of about 1,200 lawyers serving sectors like technology, life sciences and private wealth. Faced with an ageing on‑premises data centre, inadequate failover, rising cyber threats and the high cost of building or outsourcing a new facility, the firm needed a more resilient, secure and cost‑effective IT platform that could scale with client demands.

Taylor Wessing implemented a three‑year plan on Microsoft Azure, migrating test and development to IaaS VMs and adopting Office 365, Exchange Online and Microsoft Intune, with Hitachi as implementation partner for added security. The move delivered pay‑per‑use savings, seamless operations with no support tickets, 24/7 mailbox access, improved data security and faster client service (including AI‑assisted document review), while giving the firm greater flexibility and a future‑proof platform.
