International Christian University uses the latest technology to go paperless and increase security

International Christian University (ICU) in Japan, a medium‑sized liberal arts university, needed to modernize its internal portal to protect sensitive student data, replace a five‑year‑old CMS that wasn’t smartphone‑friendly, and migrate from on‑premises servers to a more secure, cost‑effective platform. The IT Center prioritized security, cloud migration, and smart‑device compatibility to improve access for students and faculty and to eliminate file‑sharing and printing inefficiencies.

ICU partnered with Flight Consulting and Prime Strategy to deploy Microsoft Azure, KUSANAGI for Microsoft Azure, WordPress, and Office 365. Moving the site to Azure with Always‑On SSL strengthened security, cut hosting costs, and made content management easier; WordPress restored smartphone compatibility; and Office 365 enabled paperless faculty meetings and faster, more reliable file search. The result: improved data protection, operational savings, simpler administration, and positive feedback from students and staff.
