Generali US Branch, the New York–based U.S. office of Assicurazioni Generali, provides property and casualty insurance to multinational clients and needed stronger disaster recovery after losing its offsite DR rack and facing increasing severe weather and regulatory requirements. Its prior tape-based and remote-rack approaches risked multi-day outages and were difficult to test.

Working with partner eMazzanti Technologies, Generali implemented a DR-as-a-service built on Microsoft Azure Site Recovery to continuously replicate its Hyper‑V virtual machines to Azure and orchestrate monitored failover. The move cut DR costs by about 65%, reduced potential data loss to under 30 seconds, enabled recovery in minutes instead of days, and made full DR testing far simpler for compliance and business continuity.
