Iberia Express, a Madrid‑based low‑cost airline, needed a fast, scalable e-commerce and pricing platform separate from its parent’s legacy systems so a small IT team could quickly convert visitors, personalize offers, and grow market share without heavy infrastructure investment.
Working with Birchman, the airline rebuilt its reservation and pricing engine on Visual Studio Team Services and Microsoft Azure—using agile tooling, CI/CD, package management, App Service, API Management, Event Hubs, Application Insights, and Power BI. The new solution halved feature delivery time, reduced operations headcount (roughly 1.5 admins versus six), increased test coverage and release frequency, cut integration/testing costs through automated provisioning, and delivered better monitoring, scalability, and customer experience.
