How the CDSA transforms movie-making in the cloud with Microsoft Azure

The Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) is a nonprofit that sets content-production and security best practices for the film industry. CDSA faced the challenge of protecting content and personally identifiable information across the entire production lifecycle while enabling secure, single-sign-on access in a world of temporary production companies, offices, and users — including compliance with GDPR and other PII requirements.

Working with Microsoft technologies, CDSA built an Azure-based solution using SharePoint, Office 365 and Microsoft Enterprise Mobility tools to provide per-production virtual AD, temporary user dashboards, granular permissions, and a three-factor portal access check (credentials, device, IP). The result is a consistent, scalable global baseline for content protection and productivity — Azure Media Services achieved CDSA certification for content protection, Microsoft maintains audits to retain compliance, and CDSA is now expanding into Power BI-driven analytics and improved metadata management.
