How Edsby uses the Microsoft Cloud to transform K-12 school districts with a comprehensive learning and analytics platform

Edsby is a Canadian company that built a K–12 learning and analytics platform to replace fragmented, insecure school systems and meet strict education privacy and compliance needs. Large districts like Hillsborough County faced multiple incompatible gradebooks, browser plug‑ins, poor mobile support and performance bottlenecks, so they needed a unified, scalable, easy‑to‑use solution for students, teachers and parents.

Edsby implemented a secure, social‑style learning hub and migrated most of its LAMP stack to Microsoft Azure, using Azure SQL Database and Blob Storage for high availability, global scale and cost‑effective storage. The cloud solution now serves nearly two million users and large districts (including Hillsborough’s 200,000 students), reducing infrastructure costs, speeding client onboarding, improving mobile performance and saving teachers substantial time on grading and communication.
