How Azure and the Microsoft Cloud Are Helping Improve Access To Care For Patients Across Canada

Novari Health is a small Kingston, Ontario–based company that set out to solve a common problem in public healthcare: referrals and surgical scheduling are still often managed with fax machines and paper files, creating delays, lost information and friction for risk-averse hospitals worried about data residency. This legacy workflow made it hard for patients to move efficiently through publicly funded systems and for clinicians to track care end-to-end.

Novari built Novari e-Request® and Novari Access to Care® on Microsoft Azure using Canadian datacentres to provide secure, scalable referral routing, a rules-driven pre-op workflow and real-time monitoring. The cloud solution has been adopted by roughly 35 hospitals across three provinces, helping clinicians track the patient journey from referral to surgery, reduce missed or misplaced referrals, speed cloud migration for customers, and improve care coordination for thousands of providers and tens of thousands of patients.
