Case Study: Buffalo Hospital Supply achieves business continuity and rapid disaster recovery with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Azure Case Study

Preview of the Buffalo Hospital Supply Case Study

Hospital Supply Firm Keeps Supply Chain Running Smoothly with Cloud-Based Disaster Recovery

Buffalo Hospital Supply, a regional distributor of medical supplies serving hospitals and nursing homes, needed a more reactive disaster‑recovery and high‑availability solution to protect time‑sensitive, same‑day deliveries. With its mission‑critical Manhattan SCALE platform running on‑premises, BHS sought to reduce operational risk and avoid the exposure of an on‑site‑only infrastructure.

Partnering with Manhattan Associates, BHS implemented a hybrid cloud DR solution on Microsoft Azure using Windows Server 2012, SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn, Hyper‑V and a VPN to keep on‑premises and cloud replicas synchronized. The “hot” backup lets Manhattan SCALE fail over to Azure during an incident, providing rapid deployment and quick ROI, continuous operations and peace of mind, plus a stronger competitive position and easier cloud deployment for Manhattan Associates.
