The Hershey Company, a century-old leader in snacks with 80 brands and 10,000+ employees, faced a digital challenge: siloed teams, heavy IT administration, and the need for faster consumer and operational insights to compete globally. Hershey sought a modern, mobile-first workstyle that would connect employees, streamline processes, and improve manufacturing and marketing responsiveness.
Hershey implemented Microsoft cloud solutions—Office 365 with SharePoint Online “The Conche” (deployed with BrightStarr/Unily), OneDrive, Skype for Business, Yammer—alongside Azure IoT sensors, Azure Machine Learning, and Power BI. The changes cut infrastructure and maintenance, enabled self-service teams, reduced internal audit time by 1,250 hours annually, saved a supplier team about 70 hours per week, delivered real-time factory monitoring and predictive maintenance, and accelerated marketing collaboration and learning.
