Hellenic Bank drives new mobile banking experience with Azure

Hellenic Bank, one of Cyprus’ largest banking groups, needed a more agile, cloud-first mobile banking experience after its traditional app and on-premises back end made updates slow and hurt user experience. The bank turned to Microsoft Azure to support its modernization efforts and improve the speed and flexibility of its digital banking services.

Microsoft Azure helped Hellenic Bank implement a DevOps-based cloud solution with faster incremental releases, marketplace integrations, and added security features such as biometric identification. The project delivered strong results: the bank achieved five releases in the first four months, exceeded its goal of 10 releases in the first year, and saw a 16% increase in monthly active users in the first month after launch and 33% within three months.
