Healthcare Technology Firm Launches New Perioperative Solution on Microsoft Azure

Talis Clinical, a U.S. healthcare technology firm, set out to make its anesthesia information management system more widely available and extend its scope to preoperative and postoperative care. The challenge was to integrate real-time data from patient monitors, medical devices, and varied EHR systems across multiple care settings, while delivering scalable, secure cloud-based performance and regulatory reporting that traditional EHRs alone did not provide.

Talis redesigned its ACG-Anesthesia solution to run on Microsoft Azure using Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server, deploying on Azure Virtual Machines for scalability and broad device/EHR integration. The cloud-based system centralizes real-time patient data, provides multi-parameter clinical guidance and alerts, supports mobile and touchscreen workflows, and automates documentation and compliance reporting. Launched in two years and available across North America, the solution improved clinical efficiency (saving clinicians time), enhanced patient monitoring and outcomes, and enabled faster commercialization of additional cloud-based clinical products.
