Healthcare firm speeds time-to-market, cuts costs, and improves patient care with Microsoft Azure

Care Innovations is a U.S.-based healthcare company that delivers remote care management solutions using smart sensors, IoT, and analytics. Facing high costs and complexity from proprietary devices and on-premises datacenters, the 100-employee firm needed to reduce infrastructure overhead, scale globally, and speed time-to-market for its Health Harmony and QuietCare offerings.

The company migrated its services to Microsoft Azure—using App Service, Azure SQL Database, Virtual Machines, Virtual Network, Storage, and Visual Studio tooling—while integrating open-source stacks and BitBucket. The move delivered faster deployments (about two weeks to set up), the ability to spin up global proofs of concept, lower end-to-end costs (customers can save more than 50% versus proprietary deployments), and improved patient care through analytics; Care Innovations now monitors roughly 50 facilities and 4,000 residence rooms and is expanding into predictive analytics.
