A Microsoft Azure Case Study
HCL Infosystems, a large Indian IT services, solutions and distribution company, needed a more reliable way to manage attendance for thousands of employees. Existing methods—mobile app, portal login and SMS—failed to ensure full compliance and were inefficient, so the company sought a seamless, accurate solution.
HCL built MyID, a face-recognition attendance system using Microsoft Azure’s Face API with a camera/touchscreen front end, local processing, Azure-hosted database and HRMS integration; Power BI delivers daily dashboards and drill-down analytics. The solution cut check-in time to about 1.5–2 seconds, closed gaps in previous systems, improved compliance and provided actionable attendance insights across departments and locations.
